Canadian Aviatrix #57 – Mary Spearing
Mary Spearing worked in the office of a large garage in downtown Toronto. She was “bitten incurably by the flying bug”, so bought her own plane.
On 29 June 1938, Mary passed her flying test and received her PPL, making her the 57th female pilot in Canada.

In 1939, Mary was the first Canadian woman to drive a car in an official fuel test tun – driving a 1939 model Overland from Windsor to Toronto, at an average of 32.86 miles per gallon.
And that’s all I can find!
Shirley Render says Mary became Mrs Enright and she was interviewed in 1984, but I can’t find sources to confirm her marriage or what happened to her after that.
