Why illustration?

I’ve always doodled, but hadn’t done any proper drawing since my standard grade art class back at school. After having my daughter, reading all my favourite kids books to her made me realize how much I love illustration and I wanted to try it properly.

I’ve taken some Continuing Studies courses at Emily Carr University of Art and Design and LOVED them. I’ve also done Christine Nishiyama’s Sketchbook to Style course and Let’s Make Picture Books by Steph Fizer Coleman and Denise Holmes.

I’m just exploring at the moment, but I like giving myself projects to complete.
