James Taylor (1877-1918)

James Taylor was born on 12 December 1877 in Bolton, England, to Charles Taylor and Mary Jane Duty.

Charles and Mary Jane had four children, before Charles died in 1887. In 1890, Mary Jane got remarried to Charles Vanderstock, who was a widower himself with three children. The couple went on to have an additional six children themselves.

Sadly, Nellie died of meningitis, aged 2.

James enlisted on 15 January 1916 and stated that he was a member of the 104th Regiment and had served four years with the Royal Naval Auxiliary Sick Berth Reserve.

James had trench fever in August 1917, but was discharged back to duty. He was shot in the back on 30 September 1918 and died of his wounds on October 1st, aged 39.

Isabella got remarried to Peter Mars, the brother of two of Port Coquitlam mayors.
