John St Pierre (1885-1917)
John Eustace St Pierre was born on 11 October 1885 in Hackney, London, to John St Pierre (a pianoforte tuner) and Mary Eliza Thomas.

John’s mother (Elizabeth, 67) |

John (senior) became blind at age 16 and worked as a piano tuner. He died in 1903 and Mary got remarried to Charles William Mackinder in 1904. He was also a piano tuner, but not blind.
John moved to Vancouver around 1909, where he worked as a painter / decorator.
John enlisted in the Duke of Connaught’s Own (168th Overseas Battalion) on 7 October 1916. He was appointed Lance Corporal on 11 October 2017.

John was reported missing and wounded at Ypres on 10 November 1917. He was later presumed to have died that day, aged 32.
