Ralph Lonsdale (1921-1942)

Ralph Lonsdale was born on 18 July 1921 in Port Coquitlam, BC, to Herbert Lonsdale and Clara Webster.

He was a pilot and died on 6 October 1942, aged 21. Returning from a raid on Aachen, the plane he was flying ran out of fuel. Ralph ordered the crew to bale out and stayed at the controls until they had all exited. He was unable to get out in time himself and the plane crashed at Arnold’s Oak Farm, Eastling, Kent.
