William Oatway (1889-1917)
William Henry Oatway (sometimes known as Harry) was born on 10 October 1889 in Bristol, England, to William Oatway and Louia Lacey.

William moved to Canada around 1909 – initially to Ontario, then to British Columbia, where he worked as a clerk in the CPR freight office.
He enlisted on 1 November 1915 and served as a Private with the 72nd Battalion.
