James Bean Redpath was born on 10 May 1891 in Old Monkland, Scotland. He enlisted on 29 February 1916 and served as a Private with the 72nd Battalion. James was killed in action in Belgium on 9 September 1916, aged 25.
Walter John Wigmore was born on 26 June 1884 in Laskay, Ontario, to Walter Wigmore and Mary Smith. Walter was found drowned in a shell hole in No Man’s Land in France on 15 November 1917, aged 33.
Thomas Haycock MacQueen was born on 10 February 1885 in London, England, to Robert James MacQueen and Elizabeth Garden. He was killed in action in the trenches north west of Avion, France, on 21 August 1917, aged 32.
Walter Livingston Raynes was born on 3 November 1881 in Saint John, New Brunswick, to Thomas Raynes and Emma Reid. Reverend Raynes was killed in action on 30 October 1917 at Passchendaele, Belgium, aged 36.
Benjamin Minter Seaborne was born on 18 October 1886 in Oxford, Ontario. He was reported dead in September 1916, but sent a letter to a friend confirming he was still alive. Sadly, the letter was received before the official notice and Ben was in fact already dead – killed in action on 11 November 1916, aged 30.
Alexander James Masson was born on 23 March 1887 in Edinburgh. He was killed on 23 March 1918 “by a German shell… right at the beginning of the big drive”. It was his 31st birthday.
Daniel Judd was born on 20 December 1876 in Stebbing, England. He moved to Canada, where he got married and started a family. Daniel was killed in action on 21 August 1917, during the Battle of Hill 70 at Lens, France. He was 40.
Herbert Bradley was born in 1902 in Dover. He lied about his age and enlisted in 1916, when he was just 14 years old. He was gassed at Vimy Ridge and sent back to Canada, where he caught Spanish Flu and died in 1918 – aged 16.
Frank Vint was born on 3 February 1876 in Beckenham, England. He moved to Canada, where he got married and started a family. Frank was killed in action on 11 November 1916, aged 40.
Frank Upham was born in 1886 in Spaxton, Somerset, England to David Upham and Susan Jenkins. He was killed in action in France on 24 May 1915, aged 29.
William Roderick Allison was born on 17 May 1897 in New Westminster, BC. His parents were BC’s Auditor-General and the sister of the BC Premier. William was run over in France and died of his wounds and infections on 24 February 1919, when he was 22.
James Russell Middleton was born on 24 January 1888 in Toronto, Ontario, to George Hodgkins Middleton and Nannie Hester Hazelton. He was a Flight Lieutenant and had to do a forced landing behind German lines. He was several wounded and died in Mulheim am Ruhr Hospital on 21 June 1917, aged 29.
